HARTFORD, CT (MAY 11, 2006)― Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness, Inc., a Hartford-based non-profit group dedicated to providing information, advice and advocacy services to patients with chronic illness and their families, today announced that the Vitalogy Foundation will donate $1.00 from every ticket sold for Pearl Jam's May 13th Hartford concert to the organization. The donation is made possible by Pearl Jam's commitment to contribute a portion of its ticket sales to local charities in the cities in which it performs.

Pearl Jam will be performing at the New England Dodge Music Arena in Hartford with special guests My Morning Jacket. The band selected Advocacy for Patients, which was founded in 2005 to assist individuals with chronic illnesses, in part because of guitarist Mike McCready's ongoing battle with Crohn's disease.

"We are so grateful to Pearl Jam for their extremely generous donation to our organization," said Executive Director of Advocacy for Patients, Jennifer Jaff. "Mike McCready and his band mates have been tireless supporters of Advocacy for Patients, and the hundreds of individuals we have helped can be traced back to them. This donation allows us to continue working with those people who most need the assistance we provide."

"Advocacy for Patients' work directly helps the countless numbers of people who, like me, are living with chronic illness," McCready said. "We're honored to support this organization's continued efforts."

Ms. Jaff has been an attorney for 22 years, and is the founder of Advocacy for Patients. She is also the author of Know Your Rights: A Handbook for Patients with Chronic Illness, which is available for sale through the Advocacy for Patients website at www.advocacyforpatients.org.
