Meanderings from the webmistress.........
My dad. David Alexander Nelson. He is - and always will be - so very much a part of my life. Because of him, the way he raised me and taught me, I am what I am today - and what I will become in the future.
Dad was the type of person who didn't think you could not do something only because you'd never done it before. With him I have learned so many things - things a "daughter" would normally never be exposed to. From driving dual gear trucks, forklifts, and houseboats, to designing and helping to build the house my folks have lived in for the last 20 years.
These earlier escapades shaped my life and my outlook so now I am a bit of everything, like my father was. All that I do has my memories and remembrances of my father deep at their core. Without his influence, love and trust I would not be the person I am today.
Considering some wonderful people, all over the world, love me and think of me as a good friend - I cannot think my father did such a bad job being himself.
My thanks and love go out first to my father, born April 9th, 1941 and died January 6, 2006. Secondly to all my wonderful friends for starting this memorial fund to help others in his name.
Thank all of you for being there.
