This fund is to give thanks for Anastasia Drummond's life and to celebrate her strength and spirit.
Anastasia has two chronic illnesses. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 20 and with Crohn's Disease at age 36, during emergency surgery for what was thought to be appendicitis.
Even in this "annus horribilis" of surgeries, infections and hospital confinements that has been 2006, Anastasia has every day given thanks for her life, and rejoiced in the good days and happy moments. There have been bad days, and tears, and little disasters, but she has risen above them.
And I give thanks that I met her, married her, and live here in one of the most beautiful parts of the planet, surrounded by good friends. There have been difficult times and scary moments for me, too, but when I see her smile, and hear her laugh, they do not matter. Only life and love matter, and for these, we both give thanks.
